Guiding you through every season of healing

Thoughtful, culturally-centered psychiatric care for ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and trauma for youth, BIPOC and Queer individuals ready to heal, reconnect and grow into who you truly are.

A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Shelby Husband, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC.

I am a doctorally prepared board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who practices traditional and integrative psychiatry. I believe there is no such thing as emotionally weak. Instead, there are opportunities for growth through our own unique experiences and challenges. I am here to help you on that journey of growth.

My approach is rooted in lived experience, a blend of modern psychiatry with integrative practices, because mental health is not one-size-fits-all. Sometimes it’s therapy. Sometimes it’s medication. Sometimes it’s sleep, nourishment, movement, or stillness. Often, it’s all of those together. This practice is about intention. It’s about slowing down, listening closely, and collaborating on care that’s right for you.

I’ve worked across residential treatment centers, acute inpatient settings, and private practice, walking alongside youth, families, and adults through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. Whether it’s a child struggling with severe trauma, a family feeling lost and unsure how to connect, or a Black or brown person navigating the intricacies of sexual identity, racial trauma and systemic racism, I serve as both advocate and interpreterhelping bridge the gap between what’s felt and what’s understood.

Who I help

I help children, adolescents, and their families navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and ADHD to develop emotional stability and build their “toolbox” with the skills they need to thrive in life.

I also support BIPOC, Queer individuals, and young adult professionals facing life transitions, career pressures, racial trauma, and identity-related stress to gain clarity, confidence, and momentum toward the lives they want to live.

My approach

I believe every season of healing begins with being truly understood. I help people name emotions they’ve struggled to define and make sense of the stories they carry. Together, we become investigators—curious, compassionate, and committed to uncovering the root causes of distress. I offer a space where imperfection is expected, progress is celebrated, and therapy is a partnership, not a prescription. My goal isn’t to make you perfect—it’s to help you feel more like yourself.
